SpaceX slips from October highs, $SPCX drifts into the mid-140s

Two weeks of selling has trimmed the rally; buyers must re-clear the prior close to change the tone.

The October run is cooling. Sellers pushed $SPCX into the mid-140s while volume remained noticeable.

What happened

The late-September/early-October rally that pushed $SPCX into the 170s has faded over the past two weeks. Today the stock opened at 147.92, reversed from that intraday high and slid to a low of 144.02 before settling at 146.14.

Volume for the snapshot sits near 40 million. That’s not a one-off spike but it’s meaningful relative to several recent sessions, so today's move carries weight even as price carves out a lower band.

Why it matters

The tape is saying buyers who carried price toward 171.09 and 171.92 are losing urgency. A string of lower closes since October 6 (171.92) and the October 15 close at 148.62 shows the market is shifting from a vertical advance to a controlled retreat.

If demand reappears and the stock can close above the prior close 148.62, it would read as buyers stepping back in and open room to re-test higher October closes such as 156.54 or 163.42. If sellers press price beneath the session low 144.02 with follow-through, the pullback would be extending and earlier intraday bounces will look like late distribution.

The data behind it

Key levels today: open 147.92, high 147.92, low 144.02, close 146.14, prior close 148.62. Those are the lines traders will reference in the next sessions.

Context from the past month: highs of 171.09 and 171.92 (early October), then a sequence of lower daily closes including 163.42 (Oct 12), 156.54 (Oct 13) and 152.16 (Oct 14) before the recent 148.62 and today's 146.14. Volume today (~40 million) sits below several big-volume days but still signals engaged hands.

Where $SPCX can go from here

Bullish continuation. Buyers push $SPCX back above the prior close 148.62 and hold that level on the close; that would read as renewed conviction and set up a test of higher October closes such as 156.54 or 163.42.

Bearish rejection. Sellers drive $SPCX below the session low 144.02 with increasing volume; that would read as an extension of the pullback and raise the odds of further downside versus recent closes.

Neutral stabilization. Price chops between the session high 147.92 and the session low 144.02 on declining volume; the tape would read as range-bound consolidation until a decisive break.

What to watch next

Watch whether $SPCX can reclaim and close above the prior close 148.62 on steady or rising volume; failure to do so while sellers press below the session low 144.02 would extend the pullback. A tight range between 147.92 and 144.02 with declining volume would mean consolidation.
