$EHC sold off 4.8% and I'm watching the shelf below
A heavy red day after a failed run at the highs looks ugly, but the structure still has a path to $133.88 if buyers defend the right zone.

$EHC is at $121.71, down 4.8% on 2.3x normal volume. That is not a quiet pullback. It is a big red candle that follows a run at the highs, and it is exactly the kind of day that makes people hit the exit.
I'm still leaning bullish, but patiently. This is a plan, not a chase. The chart has a story that hasn't finished, and today may be just the middle chapter.
Where the structure turned
On the daily, price made a change of character up through $125.28. The move that broke structure started in a demand block from $109.23 to $111.72. That zone is the origin, and origins matter to me more than any single candle.
Above it sits an unfilled bullish imbalance from $111.72 to $118.39. Price is now well over that gap, so it works like a magnet underneath. A drift back into it would fill the hole and tag the block in one move. That is the retest I want.
The sweep
Price ran the highs at $127.86 and closed back inside the range. I've seen this pattern plenty. Stops get taken, the move fails, and the market goes looking for real demand somewhere lower.
The liquidity map is crowded up there: $127.34 supply, $128.03 equal lows with stops below, and $128.40 swing high. Lots of resting orders got harvested in a small area. My read is that today is the hangover from that raid rather than a new downtrend. A small demand block at $121.53 sits right under price, which may slow things briefly, but I wouldn't lean on it.
The bull case
- Change of character up through $125.28
- Demand origin at $109.23 to $111.72
- Unfilled imbalance to fill and bounce from
- Buyer lifted the $915K print
The bear case
- Failed sweep at $127.86 with a 4.8% drop
- Volume at 2.3x normal on the selling
- Flat trend with dojis and spinning tops
- Neutral backdrop gives no tailwind
What the tape and the business say
The biggest off-exchange print was 7,388 shares at $123.82, about $915K, on an uptick. A buyer lifted it. That is one order crossed away from the public book, and it came in under half of yesterday's biggest. I'd call it a footnote. Nothing here says smart money is rushing in, and nothing says it's fleeing.
The fundamentals just sit there. Revenue grew 9.6% year over year last quarter, about the same as 9% the quarter before. Gross margin is 100% with a +0 pts change, and insiders are quiet. The backdrop is Neutral (bias +8). The daily candles lately were spinning tops and dojis in a flat trend, which is indecision, and today's volume settled the argument in the sellers' favor for now.
What I need, and where I'm wrong
The trigger is a retest of $109.23 to $111.72 that holds. After that I want confirmation: a close back above the break level on rising volume. If both arrive, the scenario target is $133.88, +10.0% over 1 to 3 weeks.
The sheet puts invalidation at $126.58, and yes, that line sits above the current price, which is awkward for a long. I'm treating it as the ceiling the idea has to clear on the way up. The cleaner kill is a close below the swept low, because then the sweep was the real move and I was reading a distribution as a shakeout.
Kill switch
Any one of these and the thesis is over, no averaging down, no renaming it.
- A close below the swept low
- Retest of $109.23 to $111.72 fails to hold
- No reclaim above $125.28 on rising volume
- Price stalls below $126.58 while the window runs out
Bottom line
I like the structure and dislike the candle, and I'm comfortable holding both opinions. No retest, no trade. If the block holds and volume comes back on a reclaim, $133.88 is a reasonable place to look.
The desk leans bullish. Bull or bear, the kill switch above is what keeps either call honest.
