Stops Taken in $NBIL: Why I Think the Next Leg Targets $14.63

Price visited the stops, collected them and came back. My read on what that sequence implies for $NBIL.

Stops Taken in $NBIL: Why I Think the Next Leg Targets $14.63

Listen: hear this article read aloud (about 2 min).

Price in $NBIL went where the stops were, then left. That isn't noise.

$NBIL sits at $9.13, $18.68 below its 20-day high of $27.81 and $0.79 above its 20-day low of $8.34.

My read: lean bullish. Buyers are close enough to force the issue, but I want volume before I call it a breakout.

What the sweep left behind

Against its own 60-session range, $NBIL is 77.5% below the high of $40.51 (Aug 17) and 9.5% above the low of $8.34 (Nov 2).

$NBIL closed higher in 3 of its last 9 sessions. Volume over the last five sessions averaged 1.3x the twenty sessions before them.

The largest one-day move in the past twenty sessions was -24.5% on Oct 16. Break of structure down through $9.81 on the daily chart.

Liquidity sweep: price ran the lows at $9.81 and closed back inside the range.

What I make of it: stops sit at obvious levels, and a sweep shows they were collected. What price does next shows whether the move was a trap or a start.

What the market looks to be pricing in

Off-exchange trading: NORMAL: no block prints, 57% off-exchange. No block-size prints (10,000+ shares or $1M+) in this window. Off-exchange volume is spread across small prints, which is what internalized retail flow looks like. Squeeze risk 9 of 100; shorts pressing 34 of 100.

Across the broader market, the read is Neutral (bias +9). On the daily chart, technical patterns include bullish_marubozu, bullish_belt_hold, outside_bar in a down trend.

Price is below its 20-day average of $14.79 by 38.3%.

Over the last twenty sessions the stock has moved -68.8%.

What I make of it: the data agrees with itself more than it argues, and that counts for something. It still falls short of proof.

The bull case

  • Structure setup with a measured path to $14.63

The bear case

  • Backdrop: Neutral (bias +9)
  • Failed sweeps are not remembered

The part nobody is talking about

What I think traders are overlooking is how little room the thesis needs. The line that proves it wrong is close and the level it points to is not, which is the kind of imbalance I like to see.

The price alone doesn't show it.

If I'm right, and what proves me wrong

If $NBIL posts a retest of the supply block $12.43 to $14.47 that holds and volume expands, I think $14.63 becomes the next serious test. Under $9.71, I'm wrong.

The honest objection is selection bias. Sweeps that worked get remembered and the ones that failed don't, so any chart can be annotated into a story afterward.

That's the whole trade: a level to clear, a line that proves me wrong, and not much in between.

Kill switch

Any one of these and the thesis is over, no averaging down, no renaming it.

  • A close through $9.71.
  • Selling absorbs the buying at a key level and price loses it on volume.
  • Order flow reverses: the sweeps and blocks turn to the other side.
  • A scheduled event changes the picture before the trigger is reached.

What I'm watching

I lean higher, not loudly. The setup earns the lean and not the conviction, and it gets the conviction only when volume shows up.

Desk record. 24 of 130 scenario targets traded before their invalidation (18%), 68 stopped out, 38 ran out of time, average outcome +1.45% per piece. Past pieces say nothing about this one.

The desk's scenario leans bullish. Bull or bear, the kill switch above is what keeps either view honest.
