Who Is Buying $RENT? Sweeps, Blocks and the Path to $5.00
Sweeps and blocks aren't how retail trades. My read on who is in $RENT and how big they are.

Listen: hear this article read aloud (about 2 min).
Someone is working $RENT in size, and the tape is the only place it shows.
$RENT sits at $2.88, $0.15 below its 20-day high of $3.03 and $1.37 above its 20-day low of $1.51.
My read: lean bullish. Buyers are close enough to force the issue, but I want volume before I call it a breakout.
Who is working this stock
Against its own 60-session range, $RENT is 26.8% below the high of $3.93 (Sep 3) and 90.6% above the low of $1.51 (Oct 5). $RENT closed higher in 6 of its last 9 sessions.
Volume over the last five sessions averaged 33.8x the twenty sessions before them. The largest one-day move in the past twenty sessions was +29.6% on Oct 26.
2640 intermarket sweeps today, 2640 on the buy side: orders that hit several exchanges at once, the signature of someone who wants size now.
56% of the volume printed off-exchange against a typical 40%: dark pools are busier than the lit book.
What I make of it: large orders are slow to hide, and a buyer working size leaves a trail in the prints before it shows up on the chart.
Who is positioned for what
Off-exchange trading: NORMAL: $56K block at $2.75, high off-exchange share. Biggest single off-exchange print: 20,514 shares at $2.75, about $56K, on a downtick (seller hit). A print that size is one order being crossed away from the public book, not a crowd of small trades. Squeeze risk 12 of 100; shorts pressing 14 of 100.
Across the broader market, the read is Neutral (bias +7).
Insiders: quiet. On the daily chart, technical patterns include long_legged_doji, bearish_harami, tweezer_top in a flat trend. Price is above its 20-day average of $1.88 by 53.1%.
What I make of it: the data agrees with itself more than it argues, and that counts for something. It still falls short of proof.
The bull case
- Tape setup with a measured path to $5.00
The bear case
- Backdrop: Neutral (bias +7)
- Prints do not carry intent
What I think traders are overlooking
What I think traders are overlooking is how little room the thesis needs. The line that proves it wrong is close and the level it points to is not, which is the kind of imbalance I like to see.
None of that is visible in the candles.
What happens next, and when I'm out
If $RENT posts the tape staying one-sided for another session (buy sweeps and blocks) and volume expands, I think $5.00 becomes the next serious test. Under $2.71, I'm wrong.
The honest objection is that prints don't carry intent. Large trades can be hedges or rebalances, and the tick rule misreads direction often enough to matter.
Clear the level on volume and I'm interested. Fail below the line and I'm out of the idea.
Kill switch
Any one of these and the thesis is over, no averaging down, no renaming it.
- A close through $2.71.
- Selling absorbs the buying at a key level and price loses it on volume.
- Order flow reverses: the sweeps and blocks turn to the other side.
- A scheduled event changes the picture before the trigger is reached.
My read
I lean higher, not loudly. The setup earns the lean and not the conviction, and it gets the conviction only when volume shows up.
Desk record. 8 of 35 scenario targets traded before their invalidation (23%), 21 stopped out, 6 ran out of time, average outcome +2.09% per piece. Past pieces say nothing about this one.
The desk's scenario leans bullish. Bull or bear, the kill switch above is what keeps either view honest.
